Behrouz Boochani is a Kurdish–Iranian writer, journalist, scholar, cultural advocate and filmmaker.
A refugee, he has been imprisoned by our government since 2013.

His memoir No Friend But the Mountains won the 2019 Victorian Prize for Literature and a 2019 NSW Premier’s Literary Award.

He speaks live from Manus Island, and will be joined by Omid Tofighian who translated Behrouz’s book from Farsi by text message.
