The Bananas in Pyjamas are icons of Australian television, first appearing on the ABC Children’s television program Play School in the 1970s, from a song and storybook written by Carey Blyton.
The Bananas’ own television show first aired on the ABC in 1992; since then, they have screened in translation on networks across the world.
In 2011, the Bananas became animated, reaching an even broader audience. They have recorded an album and made a feature film, Bananas in Pyjamas: The Movie.
Much-awarded and instantly recognised, B1 and B2 are celebrating over 25 years of splendid synergy, and have long since claimed the affections of Australians, young and old.
