Jock Serong
Jock Serong is the author of seven award-winning novels and most recently a biography of Fletcher Jones, A Suitable Man. He is the founding editor of Great Ocean Quarterly and writes regularly for major media including the Guardian, Surfing World and The Monthly, as well as for screen. Jock has a PhD in Creative Writing from LaTrobe University, and is a board member of Melbourne's Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas.
He works on writing with judges through the National and Victorian Judicial Colleges, and was Chair of fiction judges for the 2026 NSW Literary Awards. Jock lives in Port Fairy, on Victoria's far west coast.
