Larissa Behrendt
Larissa Behrendt AO is a Eualeyai/Gamillaroi woman, award-winning author, filmmaker, lawyer and one of Australia's most respected public intellectuals. She is Distinguished Professor and Director of Research at the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research at the University of Technology Sydney. Larissa has written fiction and non-fiction books, including Finding Eliza, After Story and her new book, Finding Justice. Her work explores history, justice, identity and the enduring strength of First Nations cultures and communities. An acclaimed filmmaker, she has written and directed documentaries and television projects that bring Indigenous stories and perspectives to broad audiences. She has a number of leadership roles across Australia's cultural sector, including as Chair of the National Library of Australia and Writing Australia.
