French Champagne merchant Charles Heidsieck was nicknamed Champagne Charlie in the 1850s, a moniker still used for anyone living the high life. Historical accounts notes Lord Carrington was a notorious Champagne Charlie, with a penchant for champagne every morning with breakfast.
Champagne Charlie’s is Katoomba’s oldest cocktail bar, offering traditional and contemporary cocktails; craft beer; and a wine list to satisfy the discerning connoisseur. Located on the ground floor of The Carrington Hotel, it is open to the public daily from 11am. Visit during the day to enjoy a barista coffee with casual dining from the All Day Menu.
