Acts of Reckoning, with Griffith Review

  • The Carrington Hotel 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba, NSW, 2780 Australia (map)

As Australia moves closer to the generous offer from this continent’s First Peoples to walk together and forge change through dialogue, what might be possible when reconciliation between the world’s oldest continuing culture and one of its newest nation states is achieved? And what of other moments of Australian colonialism beyond this continent that still need to be reckoned with? Join Thomas Mayor, Jane Gleeson-White and Ashley Hay for this conversation about Australia's past, present and future. Thomas Mayor will be appearing via videostream.

Presented by Griffith Review, an agenda-setting, quarterly publication, delivering insight into the issues that matter most in a timely, authoritative and engaging fashion.

Ashley Hay is a former literary editor of The Bulletin and Griffth Review, and a prize-winning author who has published three novels and four books of narrative non-fiction.

Thomas Mayor is a Kaurareg Aboriginal and Kalkalgal, Erubamle Torres Strait Islander man. He is a union official with the MUA and is an advocate in the campaign for a constitutionally enshrined Voice.

Jane Gleeson-White’s reviews and essays have been widely published, including by The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Sydney Morning Herald and Griffith Review.

Single tickets are available below. This session is also available in the 8-Ticket Multipack or 4-Ticket Multipack.
