Part cooking class, part writing workshop, this special three-hour experience with poet Sean Wai Keung offers tasty morsels for the ears, the taste buds, and the heart.
Learn to make your own dumplings from scratch, hear Sean read poetry about food, family and migration from his acclaimed collection sikfan glaschu, then share a communal meal during which you'll use those same dumplings as a spark for new pieces of writing.
Perfect for anyone interested in food, community or anything in-between, we’ll practice mindful cooking, mindful eating and mindful writing on our way to filling our bellies and hearts.
No previous experience of cooking or writing needed. Vegan ingredients provided.
Sean Wai Keung was selected from an incredibly competitive field as the 2025 Cove Park writer-in-residence at Varuna, the National Writers’ House, traveling from his home in Glasgow for a month-long residency here in the Blue Mountains. A writer and performance maker, his pamphlet ‘you are mistaken’ won the Rialto Open Pamphlet Competition 2016 and his debut full length poetry collection, sikfan glaschu, was published by Verve Poetry Press in April 2021.
