HORROR AS A METAPHOR WITH KRIS KNEEN

  • Blue Mountains Cultural Centre 30 Parke Street Katoomba (map)

Fact can indeed be stranger than fiction, so why not use genre tropes to help describe a world that is strange, dynamic and sometimes deeply disturbing? Award-winning author and sought-after writing teacher Kris Kneen has used horror tropes in their memoir and fiction writing to great effect.

Turn your novel into an original page-turner, by using tropes to bring an element of surprise to work that might otherwise be too serious, to difficult or too depressing for a writer to even tackle.

Kris Kneen is an award-winning author of fiction, poetry and non-fiction. They have been shortlisted for many awards including the prestigious Stella Prize. Their poetry collection Eating My Grandmother won the Thomas Shapcott Prize. Their latest book Rite of Spring is published by Transit Lounge.

You can purchase a single ticket to this workshop (see below), or if you wish to attend more than one workshop across the Festival weekend, you can purchase a Workshop Pass.
