WHAT'S THAT SPLAT? with johanna bell

  • Katoomba Library 30 Parke Street Katoomba, New South Wales, 2780 Australia (map)

Ages 3+

“Sometimes a splat is just a splat, but sometimes a splat is much more than that!”

“What is a dot when a dot is not? Is it a swish? A sweep? Or a swirl? Is it a scurry? A wave? Or a pearl?”

Join Johanna Bell for a lively exploration of finding wonderful stories in abstract images and making art from anything. Chat to Johanna about her wonderful books for children, including Cheeky Dogs, Digger Digs Down and Searching for Treasure, and enjoy hands-on creative play that ignites the imagination. What will your splat become?

Johanna Bell lives in Nipaluna (Hobart) where she writes fiction, poetry and children's books. Her work is widely published and she has won a string of awards, including a Tasmanian Literary Award for her recent novel Department of the Vanishing.
