In this fast-paced, hands-on workshop, discover playful and practical ways to bring surprise, originality and mischief into your writing. Led by award-winning author Johanna Bell, you'll work through quick-fire exercises designed to unearth the kind of strange and unexpected details that make readers sit up and pay attention.
Whether you write fiction, poetry or creative non-fiction, this workshop will help you avoid cliché, sharpen your writing, and embrace the weird.
Johanna Bell lives in Nipaluna (Hobart) where she writes fiction, poetry and children's books. Her work is widely published and she has won a string of awards, including a Tasmanian Literary Award for her recent novel Department of the Vanishing.
You can purchase a single ticket to this workshop (see below), or if you wish to attend more than one workshop across the Festival weekend, you can purchase a Workshop Pass.
