Anna Thwaites
Anna Thwaites is the editor of HEAT magazine, where she commissions and develops work from new and established writers around the world. Previously, she worked for more than a decade as a book editor, both in-house at Scribe Publications and freelance for many of Australia's independent publishers, and specialised in manuscript assessment and structural editing.
Anna started her career as an assistant editor at Arena Magazine, and much more recently has been the co-editor of Slow Canoe Live Journal and the micro-journal Paragraph. Alongside some of these projects, she has worked at two of Australia’s best independent bookshops, Readings and The Paperback. She has an Honours degree in Literature and Philosophy from ANU and a postgraduate qualification in Editing and Publishing from RMIT.
