Join Debra Adelaide in conversation with Sarah Malik to discuss her friendship with fellow author Gabrielle Carey, upon which When I Am Sixty-Four is based. They’ll explore their shared passion for literature and words, and the stories they shared in the final days of Carey’s life.
Dr Debra Adelaide is the author or editor of 19 books, including her 2008 novel, The Household Guide to Dying. Her most recent books are The Innocent Reader: reflections on reading & writing and When I Am Sixty-Four.
Sarah Malik is a Walkley award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. She is the host of The Conversation Room podcast and she runs the writing and culture substack Work in Progress. Her books include the critically acclaimed memoir Desi Girl: On Feminism, Race, Faith and Belonging and Safar: Muslim Women's Stories of Travel and Transformation.
