In a world of well-stocked supermarkets and florists, why do we garden, even when we don’t have to? This was the question that fascinated Hannah Moloney, a familiar face from the ABC’s much-loved Gardening Australia.
So she went out and asked. She spoke to politicians, artists, community leaders, activists and thousands of ordinary gardeners. Join Hannah in conversation with avid gardener Amy Sambrooke, to discuss the book that explores the surprising, insightful and often philosophical answers Hannah received. Much more than a gardening book, Why We Garden is a joyful, life-affirming exploration of nature, humanity and community, featuring interviews with Tim Winton, Bruce Pascoe, Laura Tingle, Clare Bowditch, Bob Brown, Costa Georgiadis and many more.
Hannah Moloney isbased in Nipaluna/Hobart, Hannah Moloney is a host on ABC TV's Gardening Australia and best-selling author. Her latest books are The Good Life and Why We Garden.
