HARNESSING WONDER WITH KATHRYN HEYMAN

  • Blue Mountains Cultural Centre 30 Parke Street Katoomba (map)

Sharpen your attention, awaken your curiosity and bring a sense of life and joy into your creativity, making your words sing with wonder. This inspiring workshop with celebrated author of seven books Kathryn Heyman is for writers as well as those wishing for more creativity in their lives.

The act of writing is an act of attention; at its best it’s an enactment of wonder. In writing, we learn to steady the gaze and direct our attention on the page and off. Rich, luscious writing is writing which has wonder in it - wonder on the page, and the life in the writing of it.

Dr Kathryn Heyman is the author of seven novels as well as a memoir, a poetry collection and several dramas for stage and BBC radio. Kathryn Heyman won the Copyright Agency's Author Fellowship for her memoir Fury, which is now in development as a feature film. Her latest novel is Circle of Wonders.

You can purchase a single ticket to this workshop (see below), or if you wish to attend more than one workshop across the Festival weekend, you can purchase a Workshop Pass.
