Brooke Davis, author of the international bestseller Lost & Found, returns with No One's Looking, a wickedly funny novel about two middle-aged sisters who begin to unravel the roles of ‘good girl’ and ‘dutiful mother’ they've played their whole lives. In Munira Tabassum Ahmed's debut, The Clinging Thing, Iqra returns to her mother's home after the loss of a pregnancy, and finds herself pulled back through the memories, rituals and unspoken debts of the women who came before her. And in Eleanor Limprecht's tense, propulsive Cul-de-Sac, a mother flees a controlling marriage for her own mother's alpaca farm, only to find that motherhood itself may be the one thing she can't escape.
Dr Eleanor Limprecht is the author of five novels, most recently Cul-de-Sac, which is published by Ultimo Press. Her novels have been shortlisted for the ALS Gold Medal, longlisted for the Voss Literary Prize and awarded the ASA Blake-Beckett Trust Scholarship.
Brooke Davis holds a PhD from Curtin University in creative writing. Her debut novel, Lost & Found, was published in 28 countries and received two ABIAs for General Fiction and New Writer of the Year, as well as the WA Premier's Award for Emerging Writer. No One's Looking is her second novel.
Munira Tabassum Ahmed has had work published in Pleiades, The Adroit Journal, Best of Australian Poems, Meanjin, Liminal, Cordite, and elsewhere. The Clinging Thing is her first novel.
Michaela Kalowski is an interviewer, moderator and curator for writers and ideas festivals. She produces and hosts a monthly books conversation event for Petersham Bowling Club in Sydney and is a co-presenter and co-writer of a two-part podcast for ABC RN, tracing part of her family's history, called Laya's Way Home.
