Bob Carr
Bob Carr was Premier of New South Wales from 1995 to 2005. During this time his government created 350 new national parks, introduced the world’s first carbon trading scheme and hosted the world’s best Olympics in 2000. Bob later served as Australia’s Foreign Minister in the Gillard and Rudd governments. Since leaving politics Bob has led a distinguished career as a de facto diplomat, author and academic. He is the author of Thoughtlines, My Reading Life, Diary of a Foreign Minister, his political memoir Run for Your Life, and Bring Back Yesterday.
For five years he was the Director of the Australia-China Relations Institute at the University of Technology Sydney and later served as Professor of Industry in Climate and Business. In July 2024 he was appointed Chair of the Australian Heritage Council. He also chairs Museums of History NSW. He is a member of the board of Sydney Water.
