BOB CARR in conversation with Michaela Kalowski

  • Tibbi Whalan Hall 81-83 Katoomba Street Katoomba (map)

Join former NSW Premier Bob Carr in a conversation more personal than political, as he reflects on his moving memoir Bring Back Yesterday, a tender account of his fifty-year marriage to his late wife, Helena, and the long, late-night walks that sustained him after her sudden death.

For anyone who’s lost someone they love and reckoned with their own mortality, Bring Back Yesterday sees one of Australia's most recognisable public figures at his most unguarded, offering hard-won insight into grief, memory and the relationships that shape us.

Bob Carr was Premier of New South Wales from 1995 to 2005. He is the author of Thoughtlines, My Reading Life, Diary of a Foreign Minister, his political memoir Run for Your Life and his latest book, Bring Back Yesterday.

Michaela Kalowski is an interviewer, moderator and curator for writers and ideas festivals. She produces and hosts a monthly books conversation event for Petersham Bowling Club in Sydney and is a co-presenter and co-writer of a two-part podcast for ABC Radio National, tracing part of her family's history, called Laya's Way Home.
